Boulevard Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac is a GM dealer located in the city of Rimouski. Prior to Boulevard GM, the Chevrolet Oldsmobile dealer was located in the village of Bic, near Rimouski, and was known as Wilfrid Ouellet Inc. The garage had 28 employees.
In 1961, Wilfrid Ouellet, owner of Wilfrid Ouellet Inc., moved to Rimouski under the name Boulevard Chevrolet Inc. It is located at 375 Boulevard Jessop. Unfortunately, Mr. Ouellet died before the official inauguration of his new garage, his daughter Estelle and his son Jean took over. Soon after, the business became the property of Roger Doucet and Eustache Soucy, the concession had grown to 68 employees. Subsequently, several divisions came into being: motorcycles, snowmobiles, trailers, mobile homes, sales and service of heavy trucks, Tilden (now National), and tire service.
At Chevrolet Boulevard, GM, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Michelin, Bombardier, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Norton, Islet, Glendale and Lionel were available.
In the 1980s, Marcel Castonguay became the new owner. Boulevard Chevrolet is at that time, the largest automobile dealers in Eastern Quebec and has about 125 employees.
Several years later, in 1995, Daniel Caron and 3 partners, Wilbert Béchard, Gaétan Levesque and Pierre Robichaud, became the new owners.
In April 2001, the new Garage Boulevard Chevrolet was built in the Parc Industriel, in the Cité des Achats, a site it now occupies. The garage is now named Boulevard Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac. Since 2012, it's a family business & it's managed by Marie-Eve & Pierre Béchard.
